Queens University of Charlotte (Chemistry)
Hello! My enthusiasm for teaching and tutoring comes from the simple motto that there is nothing you can't do if you sincerely try. I hold my students to a high standard in class and I expect the same from everyone that I teach. I have had students who had low self-esteem and poor grades completely turn their schooling experience around and outperform some of my high-achievers. I love the feeling when a student says that they understand something for the first time. My goal is to make sure that every child has that experience.
I am a public school teacher in Charlotte where I teach Chemistry and Physics and I love every second of it. I went to school to become a teacher and I don't ever look back. This isn't a job to me. It is a passion and a career. I graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Chemistry and Secondary Education as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow. I might be young, but I have stunned my superiors with my abilities and work ethic. I will not let a student down.
Due to my college degree, I have a firm grasp of math subjects up to the Calculus level as well as all middle and high school science courses.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you become the best you can be! Hello! After my son's last session he stated "He is the best tutor I've had, he's fun and I like him"
Our son is dyslexic. Alexander gives him the time and patience he needs to understand the math problems he's working on. He has always enjoyed math but 6th grade math was becoming more challenging. He is more confident about now! Well the proof is in the pudding and so far our son has a "97" in math, the last 2 quarters he has maintained an 87.
My son understands they he teaches Chemistry. He can apply how Alexander teaches him in class a lot easier. I would recommend Alex for tutoring.
My child appreciated Alex's patience and guidance. Alex went through strategies to help clarify concepts in math. Clarified concepts in a manner my child could understand.

Alexander is knowledgeable when it comes to teaching subjects. He makes sure that the student really understands what they're learning and is very patient with any questions he receives.
He identified specific steps where the mistakes were occurring in math problems. He requires each step is written down when doing math. He relates easily and is passionate. He focuses on teaching the basics of learn HOW to study. Most importantly, he listens and asks questions. I'm hopeful to see a positive change in grades.
Alex took the time to explain math processes and operations that had been difficult for my son to grasp. Very helpful.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have tutored algebraic concepts since I took algebra originally as a middle schooler. As a professional, I have been tutoring algebraic concepts as a middle school science teacher. I firmly believe that my modeling approach and ability to target specific weaknesses make me an ideal algebra tutor.
As a chemistry graduate, I have a commanding knowledge of the material that is covered in both AP, college, and standard high school chemistry classes. I have also been tutoring chemistry since I was in high school. My approach is based on modeling and I am gifted at determining where students started to get lost in the material.
I have tutored pre-algebraic concepts since I took algebra originally as a middle schooler. As a professional, I have been tutoring prealgebra as a middle school science teacher with my students that have showed both discomfort and struggle in math concepts. I firmly believe that my modeling approach and ability to target specific weaknesses make me an ideal prealgebra tutor.
