Bio

I hold both a bachelor's and a master's degree in Elementary Education with a Concentration in
Language Arts. Additionally, I have 16 years of teaching experience.

I believe that all children have unique and specific learning needs and styles. My first session is spent learning about the child, their interests, what motivates them, their strengths and areas that need strengthening. This information will direct the development of my lessons.

A technique that I find effective is: "I do, We do, You do." This allows the child to observe first through direct instruction, then attempt the task with my guidance, and finally, to try it on their own. I also utilize hands-on activities, which promote active learning.

I work diligently to increase a child's strengths, skills, abilities, knowledge, and homework and testing scores. I will support mutual collaboration with your child's family and teacher if requested.

I corroborate with students' teachers to ensure that classroom lessons are reinforced and extended. I also supply materials that are aligned with the Common Core.

Best tutor ever!

Ms. Donna is a true gem in the world of tutoring. I've used other tutoring sites and have had several tutors for my children, but none have even come close to Ms. Donna. My children love her and can't wait for their tutoring times. They have a lot more confidence now and I have seen a vast improvement in their homework and even class work. She gets to know each child and helps them to discover that any weaknesses they may have CAN be improved. She's dedicated, timely, and has a wonderful personality for teaching (calm, reassuring and capable). Thank you Ms. Donna for all you do!
