I am an experienced math and engineering tutor with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, as well as a minor in Mathematics. My academic background includes extensive coursework in mathematics, physics, mechanics, statistics, engineering, and other quantitative subjects. I currently tutor students through Varsity Tutors and have also worked as a Teaching Assistant at UNC Charlotte, where I supported students with engineering coursework, problem-solving, and technical concepts.
My tutoring experience includes working one-on-one with middle school, high school, and college students. I can help with subjects ranging from foundational mathematics and algebra to geometry, trigonometry, precalculus, calculus, physics, and engineering-related coursework. My approach is centered on explaining concepts clearly and step by step rather than simply giving students an answer. I like to identify exactly where a student is getting stuck, break the problem into manageable pieces, and then work through similar examples until the student is comfortable solving problems independently.
As an engineer, I use mathematics regularly and understand how concepts taught in the classroom connect to real-world applications. I am patient and adaptable, and I adjust my explanations based on each student's learning style and current level of understanding. Whether a student needs help catching up, completing challenging coursework, preparing for an exam, or strengthening their overall math skills, my goal is to help them understand the material and become a more confident, independent problem solver.
