Licensed High School Math Teacher | Algebra Geometry Math Tutor

Richard A.

Hello! I’m Richard, a North Carolina licensed mathematics teacher and current Math Department Chair with over 10 years of teaching experience. I specialize in helping middle and high school students build confidence and achieve success in mathematics.
I currently teach high school mathematics in Charlotte, North Carolina, where I work with students of all ability levels, that is from those who need extra support to those preparing for honors courses, college entrance exams, and advanced mathematics. My areas of expertise include Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Math 2, Precalculus, and SAT/ACT Math.

My teaching philosophy is simple: every student can succeed in math when concepts are explained clearly and connected to real-life situations. I break difficult topics into manageable steps, identify learning gaps, and help students develop strong problem-solving skills rather than simply memorizing formulas.
During our sessions, I tailor instruction to each student’s learning style. I use guided practice, visual models, frequent checks for understanding, and proven strategies that help students gain confidence while improving grades and test performance. Parents receive regular updates on progress along with recommendations for continued improvement.
Whether your goal is to raise your grades, prepare for an important exam, catch up after falling behind, or build a stronger mathematical foundation, I’m committed to helping you reach your goals.
I look forward to helping you discover that math can be understandable, enjoyable, and rewarding.
