Hello! I'm Craigshon, an educator, tutor, and academic mentor with more than seven years of experience helping learners build confidence and achieve their academic goals. I am passionate about creating supportive learning environments where learners feel encouraged, challenged, and empowered to grow. I believe every learner can succeed when provided with the right support, strategies, and encouragement.
My experience includes one-on-one tutoring, small-group instruction, academic intervention programs, after-school programs, and classroom settings. I pursued English Education at Winthrop University, where I developed a strong foundation in literacy, writing instruction, and effective teaching practices. Throughout my career, I have worked with elementary, middle, high school, college, and adult learners, supporting both those who need foundational skill development and those seeking academic enrichment and advanced challenges.
Much of my professional experience comes from Sylvan Learning, where I served in both instructional and leadership roles. In addition to tutoring learners directly, I managed academic programs, monitored learner progress, collaborated with families, and supported fellow educators. This experience allowed me to work with learners of diverse ages, backgrounds, and skill levels in reading, writing, math, test prep, and study skills.
My role as an educator is not simply to help learners complete assignments or improve grades. My goal is to help learners develop the confidence, skills, and independence needed to succeed long after our sessions end. I believe meaningful learning occurs when learners feel supported, challenged, and empowered to take ownership of their growth. By building strong relationships, meeting learners where they are, and focusing on both academic and personal development, I strive to create learning experiences that help learners recognize their potential and achieve lasting success.
