Hi, I’m Louis! I recently graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, a concentration in Business Analytics, and a perfect 4.0 GPA. My academic background focused heavily on financial modeling, advanced econometrics, statistical programming, and corporate finance. I also hold professional certifications in advanced Excel for business analysts, corporate finance, and SQL training. This fall, I am starting full-time as an analyst at Bank of America.
My goal as a tutor is to take the exact analytical frameworks and real-world problem-solving tools that helped me excel academically and use them to help students unlock their own potential. My passion for teaching is backed by diverse instructional experience across multiple age groups and settings. At NC State, I served as an Economics Department Teaching Assistant, where I facilitated learning and broke down complex economic theories for college undergraduates. I also worked as an Athletic Department Tutor, providing structured, one-on-one academic support to student-athletes navigating rigorous statistics and business coursework. Beyond the university, I have experience working with younger children as a volunteer tennis instructor for Kids on the Ball. Whether helping a high schooler master AP Economics, prepping for the SAT math section, or guiding a college student through a fast-paced summer finance course, I bring years of proven, adaptable teaching experience.
My tutoring methodology centers on clarity, structure, and application. I don't teach memorization; instead, I help students understand the foundational logic behind complex formulas and data concepts. Having just completed my degree, I know exactly where students hit roadblocks, whether it is mastering Excel shortcuts, interpreting regression analyses, or breaking down supply curves. I approach every session by tailoring the pace to the individual, cultivating an engaging environment that builds lasting academic confidence.
