Hello! My name is Jordan, and I’m excited for the opportunity to support students on their academic journey. I graduated magna cum laude from UNC Charlotte in May 2024 with a degree in history and a minor in secondary education. During my time at UNCC, I wrote an honors thesis, completed the edTPA, and passed the Praxis exams, all of which helped prepare me for a successful career in education. I currently teach high school social studies in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, where I’ve taught American history, civics, and world history. Through this experience, I’ve learned how to make complex topics approachable and relevant for students, and I love helping learners find connections between what they study and the world around them.
In addition to classroom teaching, I bring over three years of tutoring experience working with students at the elementary, middle, high school, and college levels. My main areas of focus have been social studies and math, and I tailor each session to meet the unique needs of the student. Whether a student needs help grasping challenging historical concepts, preparing for standardized tests, or building confidence in math, I aim to create a supportive and encouraging environment that fosters growth and independence. I believe that learning should be an engaging process, and I strive to make each session meaningful and enjoyable. I look forward to working with students of all ages and helping them reach their academic goals.
