During my educational journey, I gained valuable teaching experience through mentoring and tutoring. In college, I mentored students pursuing healthcare careers, guiding them through the pre-med track. I also worked with the TRIO SSS STEM program for a couple of years, tutoring students in biology, chemistry, and other STEM subjects. This experience taught me to tailor my approach to individual student needs, helping them build confidence and overcome academic challenges. I also mentored teammates as a project lead in research, fostering a collaborative learning environment. Furthermore, I worked with the Admissions Selections Group at UNC, gaining a holistic understanding of the admissions process, which allows me to advise pre-med students.
In addition to healthcare mentoring, I bring experience from my role as a senior analyst in consulting, where I worked on business strategy projects with biotech companies. I created MS Excel databases (using VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables) to drive data-driven decisions. This combination of healthcare and business expertise allows me to support students interested in both fields.
