I am currently pursuing a Neuroscience B.S and minoring in Chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have taken both AP Biology and AP Chemistry, earning a 5 and a 4 in each, respectively. On the ACT, I received a combined score of 34, with my highest scores being a 33 in Math, a 34 in science, a 33 in English, and a 34 in Reading. I graduated from high school with a weighted GPA of 4.6.
My previous tutoring experience includes tutoring in high school and over the summer as a volunteer at multiple day camps. I have tutored middle and high school students, ages 12 to 17, one-on-one throughout high school as part of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and Science Olympiad. During the summer, I volunteered at science day camps and taught students ages 4-10 about science and nature!
My approach to tutoring is to let students take the reins in what they need. I hope to be a resource students can use to accomplish the goals they set for themselves. This will look like working with students to create a consistent study schedule, finding methods of studying that work for them, consistently asking for their input in what they need, etc.
