Hello! My name is Lillian and I am a college freshman pursuing a double major in Psychology and Biostatistics on the premed track. Having recently graduated from John L. Miller Great Neck North High School, I am familiar with the competitive atmosphere that is in middle and high school, as well as feeling as though the student needs to attend expensive cram schools to catch up to their peers. With my 2+ years of tutoring experience through in-person tutoring and the platform LearnToBe, I aim to help students become acclimated with their course material while providing a comforting space for them to ask questions freely. I also teach based on the student's requirements by either using lesson plans, material that the student provides, or a reward system. I want to help the students as much as possible as I am willing to go beyond the allotted time and ensure students know how to practice the material on their own!
Since I recently graduated from high school, all K-12 material is still recent to me. I am also quite familiar with preparing for standardized tests (I have received consistent 5s on AP tests and 1580 on my SAT). Having attended numerous cram schools myself, I am also acquainted with many professional teaching methods. I have worked with a variety of ages and I tend to tutor one on one so that I can get to know each student individually as well as their personal goals. I have also volunteered in a classroom setting in which I was a teacher's assistant to 1st graders.
I highly appreciate any resources students are willing to provide as I want to help them as best as I can! I will also provide quick, concise responses for those in a hurry, and slow, methodic teaching for those looking to understand the material on a deeper level. I welcome any parent feedback and will also alter my methods based on parental goals. Feel free to contact me with any further questions!
