Throughout my high school and undergraduate studies, I have been a tutor in math (Geometry, Pre-calc-Calculus) and science (chemistry, biology) and took coursework that was rigorous in statistics, math, and chemistry. As a graduate student, I worked as a tutor in the WiSE program (Women in Sciences and Engineering) at the University of Washington in Seattle and tutored undergraduate first year chemistry. I also tutored graduate students at the School of Public Health in their statistical courses and was also a teaching assistant for graduate-level categorical data analysis (logistic regression) and survival data analysis (Kaplan-Meier, cox regression) courses using STATA. I also provided freelance statistical consultation to researchers and have experience with manuscript writing.

I provide a practical approach to learning and understanding concepts and try to involve the student's current interest as well as place theory and concepts within the student's knowledgeable background. I also believe that each student is different and what may work with one student may not work for another. Therefore, I believe that constant feedback among students/parents and myself is essential to tailor our time together in the most efficient and effective way possible. Initially, it would be good to state learning goals and then have a plan to achieve them.

STATA

Our class lasted for about 8 weeks with once or twice weekly lessons on STATA. Her patients understanding and more importantly her verse knowledge on not only STATA but epidemiology in general made what I thought impossible to comprehend in short period of time look easy. The tutoring was not about the money, she sincerely wanted me to understand the subject by constantly asking questions, we were in it together. I will recommend her to anyone leaning STATA and epidemiology.
