Hello! My name is Osamah and I am a rising 2nd year medical student at Brody School of Medicine. I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill and the Gilling's School of Public Health with distinction in 2023. I majored in Biostatistics and minored in Chemistry. At my university, I worked as a peer tutor for Organic Chemistry 1 and 2, Anatomy and Physiology, and Biostatistics. I believe that visual processing and interactive applications nurture proper conditions for learners to critically think about and grasp difficult concepts. Therefore, I prepared visual tools and asked inquisitive, step-by-step questions to guide my peers towards understanding the content we covered together. I was always keen to incorporate real-life examples in tackling tricky concepts. This helped my students explain their problem approaches, elevate their understanding, and improve their academic performance in their respective courses.

After college, I studied for a total of six months for the MCAT while also being a full-time student at an Arabic Institute. Here, I learned how to create a disciplined and structured timeline to prepare for and receive a 516 on the MCAT. Although I have enjoyed tutoring many subjects, I am excited to tutor for the Chemistry/Physics and Biology/Biochemical sections of the MCAT as I received 131s in both sections and would love to share my methods in any way possible. Juggling school or work while studying for the MCAT can be daunting, and I aim to navigate my students through their ideal schedule to prepare them the best for success. Having been through the application process myself, I also have experience editing and writing personal statements to create a competitive application that has aided in admission to medical school.

Approved Subjects

MCAT

MCAT

I took my MCAT in March 2024 and received a 516. My highest scores were in Chem/Phys and Bio/Biochem with a 131. I am experienced in studying for high intensity exams within a short period of time being in medical school and would love to share my methods to help students deeply learn the content and receive the highest score possible
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

As a current medical student, I understand what concepts and topics ADCOM's want to look for when writing personal statements. I worked with a Stanford graduate on writing my applications and know how to approach proofreading applications to see what is missing or valuable information in one's experiences. It is key to show one's skills on their application and I have expertise in helping students lean on their experiences to highlight their strengths.

Knowledgable and Approachable.

Osamah is very personable. He treats you like a peer and truly cares to see you succeed. He's extremely knowledgeable on how break down B/B and C/P passages and questions into digestible chunks. Very resourceful and patient. Does not spoon feed you answers, but rather challenges you to exercise the skill required to succeed on the exam. 10/10 recommend.
