I am a practicing bridge engineer with 25 years experience in the industry. During my studies at West Virginia University, I worked as a teaching assistant, leading labs for structural analysis and materials engineering courses. After achieving a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering (focusing on structures), I started my career working for the University as a Research Scientist. During this time, I assisted graduate students with classwork and lab work while helping forward their progress towards advanced degrees.

After leaving the academic setting, I worked as a designer, team lead, and eventually group lead. During this time, I had the opportunity to work on projects of all sizes, from simple to complex. This has allowed me the chance to learn many different real-world concepts, then share those concepts with junior engineers and help them further their career.

My tutoring style is very simple. I start with fundamentals of the topic, attempting to simplify complex theory to understandable, bite-sized pieces. I want to be very deliberate and logical in the steps taken toward gaining a full grasp of difficult concepts. My goal is to not only help you pass your courses, but to give you the tools to be able to understand principles that will help support your future success.
