Hi! I’m Prarthana, an incoming M1 at a Virginia MD school. I earned a 130 (98%) on both the CARS and Psychology/Sociology sections of the MCAT, as well as a 129 (90%) on the Biology + Biochemical Foundations section. I had taken the MCAT prior and scored very low, and was devastated. I was able to use tips, strategy, dedicated studying, and discipline to increase my score by over 14 points. Hi! I’m Prarthana, an incoming M1 at a Virginia MD school. I earned a 130 (98%) on both the CARS and Psychology/Sociology sections of the MCAT, as well as a 129 (90%) on the Biology + Biochemical Foundations section. I had taken the MCAT prior and scored very low, and was devastated. I was able to use tips, strategy, dedicated studying, and discipline to increase my score by over 14 points. I therefore specialize in teaching CARS, B/B, and P/S to students who are either looking to score well on their first attempt, or students who need to retake the exam and are not sure how to do so. I can also help premedical students with editing their personal statements or work/activities sections for AMCAS.

I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a B.S. in Neuroscience, and got a Masters degree in Physiology shortly after. I have previous experience teaching English as well as helping students on standardized exams. I am now accepted into medical school and hoping to help students like me improve their MCAT score during this time. I earned a 130 (98%) on both the CARS and Psychology/Sociology sections of the MCAT, as well as a 129 (90%) on the Biology + Biochemical Foundations section. I had taken the MCAT prior and scored very low, and I was able to use tips, strategy, dedicated studying, and discipline to increase my score by over 14 points. As a tutor, I help students increase their scores by personalizing my approach to their weakness and strengths. I first develop study plans that target students' weaknesses to give them the best chance for improvement. With the CARS and P/S sections specifically, I like to go over practice passages and implement reading strategies to find the correct answer. For B/B, with my background in Physiology and premedical coursework, I aim to explain difficult concepts in ways that are easy to understand. Overall, my goal is to simplify the MCAT and help students improve their scores in the most efficient way possible.

Kind, Knowledgable, and Wonderdful Tutor

Prarthana is really sweet and took the time to understand the way I learn before creating an MCAT plan that actually fits me. It never felt rushed or forced. She explained everything clearly and made sure I felt confident before moving on.
