Hey! My name is Brendan, and I am excited to be your tutor! I recently graduated magna cum laude from Duke University with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, and I am currently perusing my PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering at New York University. I have always been a math-y/science-y kind of guy, and I want to help you reach your goals, whether that be improving your standardized test scores, or learning how computers work all the way down to the lowest level.

Throughout my undergraduate education, I accumulated five semesters of experience as an undergraduate teaching assistant in different computer/electrical engineering courses. This has given me value experience leading discussion sections and working one-on-one with students to better their understanding of difficult subjects. During my time working with students, I fell in love with the feeling of going on a journey with students, seeing them go from struggling with a subject to the moment it all finally clicks. I'm a big believer in teaching skills instead of answers: not telling a student how to solve one specific problem, but rather how to approach a wide array of problems independently. My ambition for the future is to teach at the highest level possible, so I'm not only looking forward to being a part of your journey to reach your goals, but also you being a part of mine!

Computer Engineering

Computer Engineering

I am currently pursuing a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a focus on computer architecture at NYU and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Duke University. I’ve served as a teaching assistant for five semesters in introductory computer architecture and electrical engineering courses and worked on research involving DNA sequencing hardware acceleration. My expertise lies in low-level systems, assembly language, logic design, and CPU design.
Computer Science

Computer Science

I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Duke University with Magna Cum Laude honors and am currently pursuing a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering at NYU. My experience spans systems programming, algorithms, security, and hardware design. I’ve worked as a software engineering intern, a research assistant, and a teaching assistant for multiple CS courses, including computer architecture.
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

I’m a strong writer who earned my degree from Duke University, where I was accepted through a competitive application process that included a standout personal essay. I’ve taken English and creative writing courses in both high school and college, and I was honored with my high school’s top English award. I love helping others, and I believe writing a strong personal statement is about finding your own voice and using it to tell a compelling story about yourself.
