I am a high school math teacher currently in my 8th year of teaching for the Alamance Burlington School System. I am willing to meet students in Mebane, Graham, or Burlington. I have taught most secondary math classes from Foundations of Algebra to Precalculus. I have 12 years of tutoring experience from ranging Elementary to College level mathematics. Being a classroom teacher I know exactly what the students are required to cover and I have learned many tips and tricks throughout my career that help students understand math more completely.

I will be glad to work with the classroom teacher to target concepts the student needs to focus on or to work on upcoming topics. I try to break mathematical processes into easy to understand step-by-step lists so the students can practice independently on their own even when they are not with me. I love to see students get that "light bulb moment" where things just click for them. I have a cheery disposition and I can't wait to get this tutoring started! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
