Hello, I’m David!
I hold a PhD in Religion from Duke University, a Masters in Theological Studies from Vanderbilt Divinity School, and a BA from Western Kentucky University. I bring over 12 years of teaching and tutoring experience across middle school, high school, college, and graduate levels. I have worked as a college tutor and instructor, a teaching assistant, a substitute teacher (grades 6–12), and an English teacher in South Korea. My teaching spans religion, theology, history, classics, ethics, communication, writing, music, and test preparation.
In addition to subject tutoring, I have successfully guided students through the college and graduate admissions process, helping them clarify goals, strengthen applications, and communicate their strengths effectively. I have taught both in-person and online and pride myself on being clear, patient, and adaptable to each student’s learning style.
I focus on helping students build confidence while developing strong writing, critical thinking, and study skills. My sessions are structured, clear, and tailored to each student’s goals. With advanced academic training and extensive teaching experience, I seek to help students not only improve grades but perform at a higher level.
