Hello my name is Savannah F. and I am a junior at Appalachian State University. I am majoring in History, Social Studies for secondary education. I have an Associate of Arts degree from Wayne Community College. I have been volunteering in elementary schools for 3 years and I was a dance teacher for 3 years. I have taught ages 2-16. Recently I was a tutor/mentor in an after school program. I have also tutored my peers in the past. I have always wanted to be an education major and I have a strong passion for learning. I love tutoring elementary students because it is always an amazing feeling to see them achieve something they work hard for.
I have taken math classes all the way up to college level pre-calculus algebra.
I have taken many courses involving reading. I think reading and understanding what you read is one of the most important skills because you will use it every day.
I have tutored in a kindergarten classroom for 3 years. I also have an elementary aged sibling. I have taught them how to read and write their alphabet before kindergarten and now I help them with their homework.
I am a history education major. My favorite history subject is American History. I have a passion for American History and hope to teach it one day.
