I have graduated with my Associate in Art in 1998 along with being named Who’s Who in America’s Junior Colleges at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College. I then returned to school at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College and graduated with my Degree in Cosmetology along with my Associate Degree in Science in 2014. I then continued to the University of North Carolina in Asheville and achieved my Bachelor in Art focusing my concentration in Photography in 2017. I currently do portraiture as well as composites in photography.
Along the path in my education, I currently hold my medical technician license. While getting my education I tutored in the computer lab for two years at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College as assisting individuals of all ages to learn how to use the computer and the programs. I have taught different Art History classes at the University of North Carolina. As well as creating PowerPoints to assist in the learning process. I use Adobe Photoshop to create composites as well as creating other works of art. I also use Microsoft Windows in all of my other endeavors.
I try to bring the knowledge needed in the tutoring method to assist the student in retaining the information learned to be a positive and pleasant experience. I plan the lesson to introduce the topic in a fun and creative manner. In teaching the material I allow time for the student to be able to practice the material and reiterate the knowledge back to me in their own words. This approach can be altered depending on the subject discussed as well as the academic aptitude of the student. I am fully aware that every student learns material in a different manner and I seek to accomplish that goal.
