Having previously taught middle school math, I am fully aware of where the students "have come from" and where they need to be to be successful in HS math. I will not only teach them algebra, but I will fill in learning gaps and fix misconceptions that they may have learned in Middle School. I was very successful teaching during Covid online learning and am fully prepared to teach your child how to be successful in Algebra online using tools and devices that will assist in their math understanding and teach them how to be more organized.
I have become certified in several online learning applications that we will use (free to use) to teach, review, and collect their math progression. These include Zoom, Classkick, GoFormative, Desmos, and IXL. I will rely heavily on a digital notebook that is free to use called Classkick. This application will allow real-time interaction between me and your student as if I were sitting in the same room with them, and allow the collection and storage of all notes, worksheets, and class/homework, and even audio and video.
Your student will be able to access, review and add to this notebook for exam reviews, EOC test review, and even ACT reviews. I believe in the importance of homework/classwork and will assign your child problems to work on between tutoring sessions. I have a collection of YouTube videos I made several years ago that your child will be able to access as well for any additional Algebra/Math 1 needs. If you are local and would like to meet face-to-face weekly, I am also available to tutor students in person
