Hi there! I’m Bridget, a passionate and certified K–6 educator in North Carolina with a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (graduating December 2025). Before transitioning into education, I spent over a decade in corporate banking—an experience that sharpened my communication and leadership skills. I chose to follow my calling to teach and haven’t looked back since.

I currently serve as a 5th-grade teacher and team lead, where I specialize in differentiated instruction, curriculum planning, and student engagement strategies. I’ve tutored students in grades K–6 both virtually and in-person, including through my mobile tutoring service, EmpowerEd Learning Hub. I’ve also led reading and math intervention sessions, created enrichment programming through STREAM camps, and supported students with special learning needs. My instructional style is creative, caring, and data-driven—focused on meeting each child where they are and building confidence through consistent progress.

Whether your child needs support with foundational skills, advanced enrichment, or testing strategies, I provide a welcoming, patient, and structured learning environment that encourages growth. I’d love to support your learner’s academic journey!

ADHD

ADHD

I am a current 5th grade classroom teacher and private tutor with experience supporting elementary students with ADHD and other attention needs. I am currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (graduating December 2025). I design highly structured, engaging lessons that break skills into manageable steps, use multisensory strategies, and build in movement and brain breaks to keep students focused. In my tutoring sessions, I teach students practical tools for organization, time management, and self-monitoring while reinforcing reading and math skills aligned to their school curriculum. Families appreciate my calm, encouraging approach and the way I collaborate with them to create routines and goals that help their child gain confidence and independence.
Common Core

Common Core

I am a current 5th grade elementary teacher who plans all instruction using Common Core–aligned (or equivalent) standards for reading, writing, and math. I am currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (graduating December 2025). I’m skilled at unpacking standards, identifying prerequisite skills, and turning them into clear, step-by-step lessons that make sense to students. In tutoring, I focus on helping learners understand exactly what a standard is asking, practice it in multiple ways, and apply it to tests, classwork, and real-life situations. I also communicate with families about goals and progress so everyone knows how our work connects back to classroom expectations.

During sessions, I work directly with students to teach new concepts, review tricky skills, and model strategies that parents can continue using between meetings. My approach is flexible and family-centered, so we can tailor pacing, curriculum choices, and learning styles to fit your child and your homeschool goals.
