I have personal 1 on 1 tutoring experience where I focus on study methods and content. I find the best way to tutor is to find out how the student studies and learns first then make a plan to teach off of that. I majored in US history but can help in other areas as well, such as study skills, proofreading, and subjects in the social sciences field like geography, world history, sociology, etc.
I specialize in proofreading as well because part of my major was frequently writing research papers and honing in on grammar skills was a key part of writing those research papers
History was my major in college and while I primarily took classes in US history I also took classes in geography, government, political science, and other social sciences.
The one thing I took away from my commencement speech was to strive to be a lifelong learner. I pride myself in trying to continuously learn in as many subjects as I possibly can and one of the fun things I find in tutoring is if I do not know the answer to a student's question I enjoy researching and digging with that student to find the answer.
