I am a biology and anthropology major at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR, however I live in Asheville, NC from May-September. As a biology and anthropology major I also have significant experience in math (through calculus) and sociology. I have experience with independent fieldwork (in cultural anthropology and multispecies ethnography) as well as independent biology experiments (in neurobiology and botany). I am also fluent in french as I am a dual citizen and have taken french courses throughout my own education.
From my experience working for Catalyst Learning Curricula, a daily science lesson-plan company, I am very passionate about hands-on and creative learning. Some example activities:
• Meiosis and mitosis demonstrations with pipe cleaners, beads and magnets on a whiteboard.
• Independently created anthropological fieldwork or science experiment.
Please contact me if you are interested in a tutor who encourages creative and hands-on learning with a passion for the importance of education!
