Hi, I’m Brianka! I’m a third year medical student at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine with a master’s degree in Medical Sciences from Boston University, a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and Behavioral Sciences from Emory University, and over 8 years of tutoring and mentorship experience. I began tutoring as a high school student, working with elementary and middle school students at my local library, and later became a tutor with the Emory Reads program at Emory University, where I supported elementary, middle, and high school students across the metro Atlanta area.
Before starting my clinical rotations in medical school, I served as Co Chair of the Minority Women in Medicine club, where I provided mentorship and tutoring to college students at UNC, particularly in pre-medical coursework, medical school applications, and foundational medical sciences. Through these experiences, I have developed a strong focus in elementary and middle school math, reading, and science, high school math, science, and essay writing, college application preparation, and pre medical and medical sciences.
I take the time to get to know each student and tailor my teaching style to their goals and learning pace. Whether that means quick, clear explanations or a more step by step approach, my teaching is structured, supportive, and focused on building strong foundations, confidence, and long term academic skills, not just quick fixes.
My goal as a tutor is not only to help students improve their performance, but to help them feel confident, capable, and motivated in their learning. I look forward to connecting and helping you feel more confident with the material!
