I have taught a variety of subjects, including, but not limited to, math, science, creative writing, music, stained glass soldering, metal working, electricity, Bible, fork-lift operation and recording, to name a few. I have taught a variety of ages, from 7 to 77, boys and girls, men and women. I have taught in a variety of settings, in a classroom, on the job, as a tutor.
I have been told often that I have extreme patience as well as the ability to approach a subject from different "angles" in order to help a student or trainee understand the subject.
Here are what some parents have to say about my teaching:
My son has been learning from John D. for several months. He and I both find the classes to be hands-on, energetic and fully involving each student. John combines infinite patience with the irresistible of “Wow” curiosity. John not only succeeds in making learning fun, but gives his students the tools to retain their new knowledge with full-participation projects, experiments and real-life applications as part of each class. As my nine-year-old says, “John considers that you can do it yourself.” C.H., Parent of Student
My son has been attending the last session of the Elementary Science Class, and I cannot recommend it highly enough! He has learned so much in such a short amount of time, and has loved every single minute of it! Mr. Daniels seems to be an incredibly talented teacher, and I would sign up my kids for any of his classes. K.J., Parent of Student
We were blessed when we found you to help with Kyle’s education. Your kind, yet strong guidance has helped him more than you will know. Thank you from the very bottom of our hearts. K.S., Kyle’s Grandmother
Here is what a former work trainee has to say:
John is an extremely patient teacher. Over time, he has taught me many things, from how to deal with people to computer navigation. John’s approach to teaching is, “The only silly question is the unasked one”. He gives you references on particular points to help you remember what he’s trying to teach you. John is interesting, knowledgeable, encouraging and genuine in his desire to help you learn. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
