Hi! My name is Ashley and I am enthusiastic about teaching and learning. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Carson Newman University. I have been teaching for three years. I have gone through student teaching in college where I taught phonics, math, reading, writing, and science in a first grade classroom. I also taught in a third grade classroom during student teaching where I taught grammar, vocabulary, and reading. I have also one on one tutored a preschooler who had a developmental speech delay. Lastly, I worked at a daycare where I taught 4 and five year olds with many diverse needs.
I have a North Carolina teaching license and I am certified to teach prekindergarten-3rd grade. I believe learning is a collaborative effort between teachers, families, and students. I not only offer one on one tutoring but will challenge the student to continue in their learning after the session through engaging with the world around them and asking questions. I believe we do not all learn the same way, so I am determined to differentiate my lessons to suite the learning needs of every individual.
