I have been involved in Science Olympiad organization in multiple roles for 12+ years, from serving as event coaches for some 25+ different events across all three divisions (A, B, & C) for Woods Charter School to currently serving as a event leader for Division C Chemistry Lab event.
I tutored on-line for 7 years. I now enjoy in person tutoring for elementary math, high school honor and AP chemistry, and general chemistry 1 and 2 for local community colleges.
I have worked with students from kindergarten to high school by volunteering at my children's school. I did science activities and helped with math. I coached some 20 events in the school's Science Olympiad team over 10 years. I have also been teaching chemistry at a local community college since fall 2006. I have also been an online tutor for the last four years. I have also served as a science fair judge at local schools. I'm excited to tutor students.
I have been a mom foremost for many years. I just sent my youngest child to college last week. In my free time, I volunteer at a garden that supplies fresh produce to the local food pantry. I enjoy outdoor activities such as long distance running, hiking, and stand up paddle-boarding. I also love to read or listen to audio books.
I use graphs and pictures to help students understand concepts. I am passionate about science and scientific research. I want to encourage students to exceed in science and see how science is so relevant to everyday life.
I am excited to work with students and their parents to help students exceed in school and in life.
