I’m currently a freshman at Duke University studying Computer Science and Statistics, with a strong academic background in mathematics and analytical problem-solving. Throughout my own education, I’ve learned that the classes I benefited from the most were taught by professors and teachers who could break complex ideas down into simple, intuitive steps and present them in an engaging way. Those experiences have strongly shaped how I approach tutoring.
In my sessions, I emphasize clarity, structure, and mastery. I use a planned, step-by-step approach where students build a strong foundation, practice consistently, and gain confidence before moving on to more advanced concepts. I believe that true understanding comes not just from exposure to material, but from guided practice and reinforcement tailored to each student’s learning style.
I have tutoring experience through private one-on-one instruction, my work with Mathnasium and its mastery-based approach, as well as through volunteer tutoring services. Through these roles, I’ve taught mathematics up to calculus, reading and writing up to the SAT level, as well as foundational programming concepts. I’ve worked with students of varying skill levels and adapt my methods to ensure each student feels supported and challenged at the same time.
My goal is to make learning both effective and approachable while helping students develop long-term skills and confidence. I welcome feedback, questions, and suggestions from students and parents, and I’m always happy to adjust my approach to best support individual goals. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a lesson!
