It is my joy to see students have those "lightbulb" moments in their learning, making connections and mastering new concepts. I also hold a Certificate in College Teaching from Duke University which has provided me the training to communicate clearly, structure student learning effectively, and help solve student problems in ways that are efficient and evidence-based.
I adapt my tutoring style and method based on the student's individual needs—I can help you work through specific questions or zoom out to develop a deeper, more holistic understanding of musical concepts. I am particularly able to help students with AP Music Theory course work, skills at the piano keyboard, aural skills development, or questions about music history. Prior to Duke, I earned my BA in Music from Stetson University (2013) and my MM in Piano Performance from Texas Christian University (2020).
I am a former contract pianist at Disney Springs in Orlando, Florida, and I have published and presented my research at conferences across the country. In addition, I have extensive experience teaching piano and working with students of all ages in both one-on-one and instructional settings. I am eager to support you in achieving your musical goals.
