I am a currently employed Chinese language school teacher with many years of classroom teaching experience at a Chinese language school. I have worked with students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds and understand the common challenges that learners in the U.S. face when studying Chinese. My teaching emphasizes clarity, patience, and practical communication skills, helping students build both confidence and long-term proficiency.

I am well-versed in Chinese culture and believe that language learning is most effective when it is connected to cultural context. In my classes, I often incorporate cultural explanations, real-life examples, and authentic materials to help students better understand not only how Chinese works, but why it is used in certain ways. This approach is especially helpful for heritage learners and students preparing for academic or standardized exams.

I am highly familiar with the structure, content, and scoring standards of the HSK exams and the AP Chinese Language and Culture exam. I have experience guiding students through targeted preparation, including listening strategies, speaking practice, reading comprehension, and writing organization. Whether a student is aiming for exam success, academic improvement, or overall language development, I tailor my lessons to meet individual goals and learning styles.

I am able to teach students from Grade 5 and above, including middle school, high school, and adult learners. Lessons can be structured, exam-focused, or flexible depending on the student’s needs. Classes are available after 7:00 PM Eastern Time (ET), making it convenient for students with busy school or work schedules.
