Hi, I'm Siena! Art and Literature have always been passions of mine, so my goal as a tutor is to make those subjects more accessible to students of all grade and skill levels. I would love to help you strengthen your analytical skills, develop clear ideas, and communicate more effectively.

I graduated with a joint Master of Arts in Art History and Comparative Literature from the University of St. Andrews with First Class Honors in 2019. I have an MA in Art History with six years of educational background covering ancient, African, European, Islamic, and North American art history. Since graduating, I've continued to seek out unfamiliar forms of art and have enjoyed learning alongside the students that I tutor.

In June 2022 I completed a Certificate in Copyediting from the University of San Diego Extension. I am very familiar with English grammar and writing conventions and have a keen eye for detail that helps me to identify ways for a student's writing to reach its full potential. Through Wyzant, I've edited successful applications for high school, undergraduate, and postgraduate programs along with other academic papers, personal statements, creative projects, and professional materials.

I have an MA in Art History with six years of educational background covering ancient, African, European, Islamic, and North American art history. I have also assisted the Curator of Historical Art at a local museum with research and administrative work for multiple exhibitions.

In my six years of Art History education and four years of Wyzant tutoring, much of my work has focused the art of ancient Greece and Rome. Most art history survey courses include classical art, but I've also worked with students taking courses dedicated to Greek or Roman art. In addition to my personal interest, I have a solid understanding of both the history and vocabulary of classical art and have had the privilege of viewing many of these works in person.

English was consistently my favorite subject in school, and I have an MA in Comparative Literature as well as several years of experience editing and proofreading academic papers. I am an avid reader of books of all genres and am familiar with many of the canonical texts taught in schools today.

Religion

Religion

My focus on text-image relationships in art history led me to study both Christian and Islamic art. I am familiar with religious symbolism in both Christian and Islamic contexts and how different stylistic approaches relate to faith, history, and culture. Expressions of religious belief account for some of the greatest artworks on earth, and I'm always happy to discuss them.
