I'm a former high school English teacher with years of tutoring and counseling experience, and a love of learning and teaching.
I graduated from the University of Delaware Honors Program with a degree with distinction, cum laude, and am a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. After college, I taught for two years, and my students improved by an average of three reading levels per year. I also earned my Secondary Education Teacher Certification. I've helped hundreds of students increase their ability to express themselves through the written word, and hone their reading comprehension ability.
I've been tutoring SAT and ACT to individual students and small and large groups since 2008, and many of my students have increased their scores by over 250 points. I am very familiar with changes to the SAT since this spring's redesign and can walk you through what to expect.
I've also coached dozens of students through college admissions and job application processes, including drafting and proofreading college admissions essays; honing resumes; and crafting compelling cover letters. If you want help achieving your academic or career goals, contact me and we will develop a plan for you.
I'm available to tutor online or in person, and generally have hours between 9am and 9pm on weekdays and Sundays. I offer discounts--contact me for more details!
Lessons usually involve homework and/or practice problems, and I give frequent feedback.
