I hold a Bachelor’s degree in History Education from Brigham Young University–Idaho, where I completed coursework in teaching methods, adolescent development, and curriculum design. Throughout my program, I gained hands-on classroom experience through practicums and working directly with students on writing, reading comprehension, and social studies skills. In addition to my formal training, I spent three years as a substitute teacher, working with elementary, middle, and high school students. This experience strengthened my ability to adapt quickly, manage different classroom environments, and support learners with a wide range of needs and skill levels.
My tutoring style is structured, patient, and student-centered. I begin by identifying a student’s strengths and learning gaps, then create customized lessons that include clear explanations, guided practice, and opportunities for independent application. I focus on helping students build confidence, understand concepts deeply, and improve essential academic skills such as critical thinking, essay writing, organization, and study habits. Whether a student needs support catching up or wants to push their skills further, I work to make learning approachable and empowering while helping them make consistent progress.
