Hello! I have over 25 years experience as a music educator. I endeavor to make lessons fun as well as educational for the student! I currently (10/29/2024) teach music classes at a local college in Montana, and retired from an Arizona school district as a Choral and Orchestra Director (11 years) in 2014. I taught choir in Montana school districts for over 20 years. I just began with Wyzant in December of 2022. I tutor grammar, writing, and English fluency part time and have over 12 years experience as a tutor. I am completing my Master's Degree in Teacher Leadership through Grand Canyon University. I hold a degree in Music Education from Montana State University, and an English as a Second Language endorsement from University of Phoenix. I teach beginning through advanced guitar, piano, violin, bass, and mandolin lessons and specialize in music theory.

I also have 3 years experience as a Title I summer school teacher with my district and have successfully instructed students ages 6 through 18 to improve their reading, language arts, and test taking skills. You will get the optimum and effective instruction for your fee and optimally improve your skills! I have many references and they are available upon request. For best results, I will schedule a time twice weekly in order prepare you or your child for the coming school year. I travel within a 20 mile radius from my home.

I graduated from Montana State University with a degree in Music Education. I studied composition for 3 years while in college. I have over 30 years experience composing songs, choral and orchestra works, and currently have produced 6 albums of music (CDs). I am a published composer (ASCAP) of instrumental and choral works, and currently write for film and television, and have composed music for school districts and individuals. Several of my compositions are listed in a catalog of Wild Whirled Music Group, Phoenix, Arizona.

Dedicated, patient, and inspiring violin tutor!

I am incredibly grateful to have Deborah as our daughter's violin tutor. She has been tutoring our 13 y/o daughter for about 2 months now. I especially appreciate her patience, and ability to connect with our daughter. Her lessons are engaging, well-structured, and tailored to our daughter's needs, helping her grow in both confidence and skill. Deborah not only teaches technical skills but also inspires a genuine love for music in her students. I was fascinated by how sometimes during the classes she plays along with her piano as my daughter plays the violin to achieve a sweet musical harmony. I think this makes her lessons both educational and enjoyable. I highly recommend Deborah to anyone looking for a dedicated and talented violin instructor!
