I have been teaching internationally for over 18 years. I have taught in Germany and in South Korea; teaching students from every continent on the globe. That alone has been a fantastic experience. In my life abroad, I have traveled to 13 different countries and worked with people from an amazing amount of different cultures.

I have been teaching internationally for over 18 years. I have taught in Germany and in South Korea; teaching students from every continent on the globe. That alone has been a fantastic experience. In my life abroad, I have traveled to 13 different countries and worked with people from an amazing amount of different cultures.
In moving back to the states, I'm excited to reacquaint myself with the landscape of my culture and country. I hope to bring my students, virtually, along with me to see the history on location, as the opportunity allows. My goal is to be a teacher, on location, with videos of the places which enhance the trends, themes, and events of AP histories.
I have taught US history and world history to Americans abroad in military schools, to international Koreans in Korean public schools, and to international students in international schools. I have also taught general social studies, religious studies, economics, current events, and even physical science. The element that I have found success in all these different schools with different student backgrounds is looking for larger trends and context to the minor events. In teaching AP, which I have taught and currently teach online with Korean students, the big picture helps in remembering the details. With writing AP, there are points given for contextualization. Looking at events and documents in the context to which they were formed is essential for AP, and very helpful to students unfamiliar with a lot of the details of a particular period.
With art, I have been helpful in guiding students in building and designing portfolios for college applications and interviews. My design theory with portfolios or exhibits is that art is a language, and because of this, your art should be a visual and logical argument for the statement being made. A portfolio is a visual research paper of an idea or design.
I would love to help students study for the AP tests or to build a portfolio. Currently, I have material organized for a 13-week cras
