Hi there!
My name is Olivia and I am currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering. I have two and a half years of experience as a professional writing tutor, working both in person and online through my university's writing center. I have been formally trained as a generalist able to help you work on any piece of writing you may be developing, but I have additional experience in technical writing, including lab reports, grant proposals, and academic papers. I have co-presented research on writing within engineering courses at the National Conference on Peer Tutoring in Writing, and regularly work with engineering students to develop their writing on projects both big and small.

The majority of my experience has been working with hundreds of undergraduates on completing core writing courses, lab reports, applications, creative writing projects, and more. I have also worked with many graduate students working on literature reviews, thesis work, and academic papers they were preparing for publication. My diverse experience, along with my formal training in tutoring methods and writing pedagogy, has prepared me to help you with any piece of writing!

My strengths lie in helping you with an established writing project, like an assignment you have some direction for. However, we can also work through review and practice, reviewing old work to identify areas of improvement, or work together to plan out your next creative project. My sessions typically start with a few questions to help me understand where you're at, how you're feeling, and what I can help with during our time together. Whether you are looking to build an extended relationship or a just need a one-time review, our sessions will be tailored to your knowledge and experience to help you grow in your writing ability and feel more confident as a writer.
