Hello!
My name is Drew. I graduated with honors in Conservation Biology from St. Lawrence University and am currently pursuing an MFA in Science and Natural History Filmmaking at Montana State University. My research and fieldwork have taken me to Kenya, Hawaii, and Idaho, allowing me to gain a global perspective on ecological change and sustainability.
Through my academic journey, I've come to understand that the challenge often lies not in the information itself but in how it's delivered. A calm, engaging, and clear instructor makes all the difference in fostering effective learning. I strive to embody this approach in my teaching, tailoring my methods to meet the individual needs of each student. My diverse experiences, from whitewater rafting and crossword construction to teaching, have deepened my appreciation for effective communication and genuine understanding. These experiences guide my teaching philosophy, focusing on understanding each student's unique learning style and using their interests to drive their educational growth.
I've spent the past two years tutoring high school students in AP Biology and Ecology and currently teach lab sessions for undergraduate students in introductory film courses. Additionally, I’ve assisted in undergraduate psychology and English classes, broadening my teaching experience. My goal is to support and inspire students, helping them develop into proud and capable academics.
I'm readily available and flexible, so please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or to schedule a lesson. Thank you!
