I have taught school for over 12 years and have counseled with students in the mental health profession for 6 years. Currently, I am a vocational counselor working with students as a career counselor to promote academic success as it relates to making career choices. However, I have a passion for working with guiding and providing choices for students at the secondary level. Also, I have worked with students of all grade levels whether in the classroom or in the churches.
On the other hand, the credentials and certifications that I hold as an educator are: English, Psychology, Counseling, Special Education, and Writing. The various degrees that I hold are a Bachelor's Degree in Educational Psychology, English, Special Education, Educational, & Leadership.
I love working with students of all ages especially when they are willing to learn. Furthermore, I look forward to being of great educational & social support to all learners.
What makes me outstanding in the area of English is my love and passion to express myself in the area of writing. In addition, I am confident in this subject area with experience in teaching English. My vocabulary is strong and I feel that my knowledge about English grammar should support the cause for the success of all learners. With that being said, my expertise speaks volume for both me and the learner. Therefore, I look forward to being a great asset to the students.
I am an experienced Special Education Teacher and would love to share knowledge with students with unique and individualized needs. Therefore, I feel that I will be of great asset to the learners entrusted in to my care. I have 12 years of teaching experience in special education or students with disabilities working to promote academic growth in Math, English, Science, Social Studies, Reading, & Writing.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am endeavoring to become a tutor for students with ADD/ADHD because of the experience and skills that I bring as a former Mental Health Therapist. I bring 5 years of professional experiences under the umbrella of the Mental Health Services. I was humbly and honorably served my clients with dignity and pride. Most of my students were home bound, at the middle and high school levels. On the other hand, I was required to attend several professional development training that allowed me to grow in this profession in order to work effectively with the ADD/ADHD students. Therefore, I feel that my educational background as well as my experience with these students will promote academic success in the distance learning environment. However, my degree and certification in Psychology served as a plus for the distance learning environment. Also, I was given the opportunity to develop positive behavior plans that allowed the clients to apply themselves accordingly. These are the reasons why I feel that I am the right person for the tutoring position to meet the educational needs of students entrusted into my care.
I am endeavoring to become a tutor for your learning community because the experience that I bring as a former special education teacher. I bring with me 12 years of experience as an inclusion teacher and I was privileged to meet the unique individualized needs of the students based on what their IEP's Individualized Educational Plan stated. Also, I was required by the state of Mississippi to become certified of which I have acquired. I hold a educators license in the field of special education. Some of the duties and the responsibilities I was required to meet were: Establish a positive learning environment that includes instructing students with disabilities and general education students to promote students achievement in all subject areas; Planning and implementing instruction with teachers’ to meet the academic needs of students with disabilities; Conducting IEP meetings; Modifying educational activities such as: kinesthetic, visual, and auditory to ensure that the needs of student with disabilities were met.
