Hello, my name is Andrew and I'm a musician, artist, and producer with around 4 years of experience in music and 10+ years of traditional art experience. I'm also a college student in central Mississippi. I don't have a formal education in teaching or tutoring, but I have tutored and taught basic guitar and traditional art techniques to family and friends of mine during recent years. I was one of the more advanced and trusted students in my high school Gifted Art program. I took formal guitar lessons for around a year and half but eventually moved to teaching myself. I've been writing songs since 2013, but didn't have an outlet until I started learning guitar in 2015.
I love teaching people how to be creative and express themselves. Art is the greatest escape for humans and why not teach people how to do it themselves? I've seen the joy in people when they learn how to write down, play, or make something they're proud of.
I've studied music independently for 4 years as well as taking 1 and half years worth of lessons from a certified teacher. Guitar is my main instrument with a heavy focus in blues, pop, funk, and experimental sounds. I have a basic understanding of Jazz as well. I understand a majority of Music Theory up to the intermediate level. I've been producing and composing music with a Digital Audio Workstation called Logic Pro X for almost a year. I've been writing lyrics since 2013, but I started writing songs semi-professionally beginning in 2015. I have around 15 complete songs written and over 400 written ideas between my phone notes, binders, and notebooks.
I took 4 years of Gifted Art in high school. I focused heavily on water color, micron pen, still life, black and white, and character design. I've focused a lot on traditional Japanese art in the last six months. I've won several first place awards throughout my 4 years of high school art classes. My senior portfolio was 2nd best in show.
