Hi there - I'm Ryan! I hold a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering with a minor in Math, as well as a Master of Engineering, both from Mississippi State University. I am currently pursuing a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary. My academic background gives me a unique ability to tutor both in humanities subjects—such as writing, Bible, and theology—as well as in technical areas like math, logic, and organizational systems. I have a deep love for learning and a passion for helping students grow not only in understanding but also in confidence.
Over the past several years, I’ve taught and mentored middle school, high school, and college students in a variety of contexts. In my current role as a pastor, I regularly teach students and adults in both large and small group settings. I also lead workshops, write curriculum, and speak weekly, which keeps my communication skills sharp. My approach to tutoring is relational and tailored—I aim to meet each student where they are, clarify difficult concepts, and equip them with tools they can use beyond our sessions. Whether working with a student on writing a clear and persuasive essay or guiding them through the logic of algebraic thinking, I focus on building understanding that lasts.
My experience includes mostly informal tutoring, from volunteer work with struggling high school students to coaching peers and adults in public speaking, writing, and study strategies. I’ve worked with learners across a wide range of abilities and learning styles, and I enjoy the process of helping each person make meaningful progress.
