I have exceptional understanding of Prealgebra, Algebra (1 & 2), Geometry, Trigonometry and all lower math. I have tutored students in Math from grades 4 to 18 over the last 20 years and have a 100% track record of improving students grades and self-confidence in math, and never had a student fail under my tutoring. I am a flexible teacher and prefer to teach in the ways that my students best learn, and I can adjust to any student's preferred learning style. My understanding of math is extremely strong so I am able to explain math and teach it many different ways so that it will make sense for any student. I am excellent at helping students with study skills and preparation for college entrance exams as well. These exams are as much about study strategy as they are about understanding the content.
I also have many years of experience in public speaking in a variety of settings including as a stage actor, so combined with my teaching background, I enjoy helping others improve their public speaking and acting.
I am currently working on a book and have enjoyed writing for years, and have had many people encourage me to pursue it in a more serious way. So I have. My editing skills are very strong and I enjoy making other people's prose grammatically accurate and clear. Despite the strength of my math skills I scored the highest in English (in the 30s) on the ACT.
