I am currently a certified teacher who teaches U.S. History in high school. I have taught for 13 years. My scores for the U.S. History MAAP State Test averaged 85-90 percent proficient over a 7-year period of time before the test was dropped by the state department. I have taught 9-12th grades, but I also have tutored younger students. Most of my experience is in the classroom but have had one-on-one and small group settings within the school environment. Prior to my full-time teaching position, I worked as a certified long-term substitute. I am patient and flexible with my students.
My first year of teaching I received the award of NEW TEACHER OF THE YEAR. I have received since then TEACHER OF THE YEAR twice. Teaching for me is a passion and a calling. I put everything I have into the task at hand for the betterment of my students. I will carry this philosophy into my tutoring sessions.

My students love to come to my class because it is always an adventure as they learn about the past. I will pass this mindset on into my tutoring sessions. As we learn about the past, it helps us to navigate and understand our future.
Prior to entering the educational world, I spend 20 years in business as an entrepreneur and a television advertising sales agent. I find having academia and business in my background propels me in being the best tutor for my students as I feed off of my past experiences. This allows me to have a well-rounded view of the information that we are studying and I delight myself in being able to pass this on and pay it forward.
