I consider myself to be a life long learner who's excited about learning and educating others. I am experienced as both a tutor and teacher with about 10 years of experience. I started teaching through the public school system starting with elementary, then moved up to middle, high school and for the last 6 years college. I also volunteered by teaching adults through a community organization. Working in the corporate world added to my knowledge because it was there that I was able to utilize my formal education and apply it to my job.

I am certified as a college instructor through the Louisiana state board. The thing that I love most about tutoring is that it allows me to give my undivided attention to a student, thus ensuring that this individual gets the most out of his or her learning experience. I also enjoy motivating my students. Sometimes it's a matter of encouraging them. I am exuberant when my students excel in achieving their goals academically, professionally, and personally. I feel good knowing that by playing my small part, I was able to help students in their quest towards success. I am rewarded when I am contacted by former students and they tell me that things that were able to accomplish in life was from my facilitating them.

I have always loved English and did well in the classes. Most of the classes that I have taught included grammar, proofreading, public speaking, vocabulary and more. I have even taught workplace communications and customer service classes. These classes were college level. When I taught in primary education I focused on reading, comprehension exercises and expanding vocabulary. I have also taught basic math. I have a legal background. After earning a paralegal certificate, I worked for several attorneys before I accepted a job for a corporate office.
