I hold a M.S. in Chemistry and am currently completing Dissertation for my Ph.D. with an emphasis in organic. My research on synthetic methodology and analytical techniques such as NMR and mass spectrometry. I am currently the General and Organic Chemistry Lab Coordinator at the University of Southern Miss where I manage over 50 sections of chemistry labs, over 1000 students, and teach a graduate course on being an effective teacher and tutor.
Throughout my graduate studies, I have served as a teaching assistant for both lecture and laboratory courses, including general chemistry and organic chemistry working with undergraduate students at various levels. My tutoring and teaching experience spans over five years and includes both classroom instruction and one-on-one mentoring, and tutoring. many of my previous students are currently in med-school and some have even been able to obtain internships at Harvard.
I take a student-centered approach to tutoring, tailoring explanations and strategies to fit individual learning styles. I aim to build confidence by breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps and encouraging students to actively engage with the material through problem-solving and discussion. Whether guiding a student through a challenging synthesis problem or helping them grasp foundational concepts, I always strive to make the learning experience both effective and enjoyable.
