Tuck is a master's student at the University of Mississippi studying anthropology with an emphasis in cultural anthropology. He received his bachelor's degree, also in anthropology, from the University of California, Santa Cruz. As a senior at UCSC, he won the Dean's Award in Undergraduate Research for his senior thesis. He specializes in writing at the intersection of the humanities (creative writing, literature, history, philosophy) and social sciences (anthropology, sociology, economics, political science).
He possesses extensive experience in teaching writing at the undergraduate level. For the last academic year, he served as a writing tutor for the University. In this position, he conducted one-on-one writing sessions and group workshops with students, providing feedback and advice on everything writing-related: from essays to resumes to professional emails. While he specializes in social sciences and humanities genres, serving as a tutor gave him the ability to provide counsel for students in STEM and business majors, as well.
Tuck is a passionate writer and reader. He is currently in the process of publishing his first journal article on digital media in Latin America, applying to doctoral programs, and writing his master's thesis. In addition to his writing skills, Tuck has near-native fluency in Spanish. Teaching, writing, and research comprise the majority of his work these days, and he likes it this way.
