Hi all! I am Anu, a graduate in Botany (specialization in subjects like plant physiology, anatomy, genetics, biodiversity) and a post graduate in Environmental Sciences (dealing with subjects like ecology, environmental toxicology, waste management, environmental pollution, environmental education, air pollution control, climate change, natural resources). For graduation, I secured third rank (92%) at the university level and first rank at the university level for my postgraduation. I also have a certified teacher training certificate (B.Ed. in Natural Sciences) and diploma in office automation.
I have a classroom experience of 3 years teaching both middle school and elementary school students. In a classroom of 32 students, I tried to implement different teaching techniques like art of questioning, classroom discussions, group activities, seminars, PowerPoint presentations, model making. To make the concepts more clear, I had fun doing laboratory experiments with my students and also conducted periodic tests to assess student’s progress. I devoted another 3 years with postgraduate students. Apart from teaching, I also handled science project at the university level (UGC), mentored M.Sc. students in their projects and in their scientific paper submissions, assisted in organizing scientific seminars relevant for the overall development of the students . I also got the opportunity to publish many scientific papers in different journals. One on one teaching experience in online sessions during the pandemic further enhanced my teaching experiences.
So, for me teaching is my passion. As an educator what I feel is, staying updated on the latest developments in our field is crucial. I believe a teacher should have a genuine interest in what students have to say, and be open to their perspectives, this will create an approachable atmosphere in my classroom.
