Hi, I’m Victoria! I have a B.S. in Psychology from Grand Canyon University, where I graduated with a 3.7 GPA, and I completed a three-year program at New Testament Christian Seminary. I have many years of experience teaching and working with children and teens in both group and one-on-one settings. During COVID-19 school disruptions, I independently tutored four students in preschool, kindergarten, third grade, and fifth grade. We worked through school assignments across core subjects, reinforced concepts they were struggling with, and focused on academic preparation. With the younger students, I worked on foundational skills such as letter recognition, writing, counting, and early reading. I also have years of experience creating and teaching lessons through Sunday School, Children’s Church, and youth programs.
My tutoring style is patient, encouraging, and adaptable. My experience working one-on-one with children with developmental disabilities taught me the importance of individual goals and adjusting activities to meet each child’s needs. I believe that sometimes a student simply needs something explained differently. If a concept isn’t clicking, I may break it into smaller steps, demonstrate it visually, use a real-life example, practice it together, or try a more creative approach.
I offer elementary academic and homework support, reading, English, homeschool support, study skills, kindergarten readiness, and Bible studies. My goal is not just to help students get the right answer, but to help them understand why, develop skills they can use independently, and become more confident learners. I’d love to learn more about your student and how I can help them succeed!
