I am a National Board Certified Teacher with 15 years of experience working with students from preschool through 12th grade. I specialize in special education and hold National Board Certification in Exceptional Needs, with a focus on Deaf and Hard of Hearing education. My experience includes elementary academic support, reading instruction, study skills, and individualized instruction for students with diverse learning needs, including students receiving homebound services.
Throughout my teaching career, I have enjoyed finding creative ways to help students understand challenging concepts and build confidence in their abilities. I believe every student learns differently, so I take time to identify their strengths and areas where additional support is needed. I use hands-on activities, visual supports, guided practice, and step-by-step instruction to make learning engaging and manageable. I especially enjoy helping elementary students strengthen reading skills and develop strategies that support success in the classroom.
My goal as a tutor is to create a positive, encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and celebrating their progress.
