Hello, I'm Antonio. I graduated with honors from Mississippi Valley State University with a B.A. in English. Upon graduating from MVSU, I began teaching 6th grade Language Arts at Amanda Elzy Elementary School in Greenwood, MS. I later transferred to West Bolivar High School where I taught 9th, 11th, and 12th grade English. I was also Chairman of the National Honors Society at West Bolivar High School. While at West Bolivar High School, I earned my Master's of Education in Higher Education from Ashford University in 2017. Upon completing my master's I later transitioned to Mississippi Valley State University to work with the Emerging Scholars Program and the High School Equivalency Program.
I have 6+ years in teaching and tutoring in the following areas: Reading, Writing, ACT English, ACT Reading, African American Literature, British Literature, Early 19th Century Literature, American Literature, Grammar, and Public Speaking. Also, while teaching at WBHS, I aided in the remediation of 35 students who had to retest the English State Test. All 35 re-testers passed.
I want to help other students as I have helped the students that have matriculated throughout my classroom. It is my desire to equip everyone that I come into contact with, with the proper skills and tools they need to be great writers.
