Howdy. My name is Matthew, and I'm a recent graduate with a couple of years of teaching experience. Howdy. My name is Matthew, and I'm a recent graduate with a couple of years of teaching experience. I'm from the Memphis area; I grew up in DeSoto County and attended Northwest Mississippi Community College. I received an associate's degree in theatre from there and went on to study creative writing and journalism on a pre-law track at Arkansas State University.
I still live in the area and currently teach Spanish and theatre to grades K-6 at two local private schools, in Southaven and Oxford respectively. In addition, I am currently finishing up a TESOL certification from Arizona State, which allows me to teach English to speakers of other languages. My past experience includes 2 years of substitute teaching in public and private school settings, a year and a half of morning and after-school care with the YMCA, and brief stints here and there in journalism, the restaurant business, and software engineering.
